HGH Fragment 176-191 is a synthetic 16-residue peptide corresponding to the C-terminal tail of human growth hormone, amino acids 176 to 191 of the 191-residue full-length protein. It has a molecular weight of approximately 1,817 Da. The fragment was first synthesised to investigate whether discrete regions of growth hormone could be studied in isolation from the whole molecule, and it represents the native sequence without further modification.
Research on the 176-191 fragment has focused on lipid metabolism in adipocyte cultures and rodent models, with the aim of separating this region’s activity from the growth-promoting and glucose-related effects of full-length growth hormone. The fragment is the parent sequence of AOD-9604, which was later engineered from it. Megalab supplies HGH Fragment 176-191 as a research reagent only.
Each vial contains 5mg of HGH Fragment 176-191 as a lyophilised powder. Purity is verified by HPLC at ≥99% on every batch. The batch record on this page identifies the current lot where published; a Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Store unopened vials at −20°C, protected from light. Bring to room temperature before opening. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water added slowly down the vial wall, swirling gently to dissolve. Store at 2–8°C after reconstitution and use within 30 days.
Supplied for laboratory research use only.
HGH Fragment 176-191 is the unmodified native sequence. AOD-9604 is a stabilised analogue of it with a tyrosine substitution and a disulfide bridge. Protocols replicating earlier fragment literature typically use the native sequence; those following the AOD-9604 literature use the analogue.
Residues 176 to 191, the final 16 amino acids at the C-terminus of the 191-residue human growth hormone protein.
Lyophilised at −20°C away from light. After reconstitution, at 2–8°C for up to 30 days.
