Peptides are typically produced using solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS):

1. Anchor — the first amino acid is attached to a solid resin support
2. Deprotect & couple — the protecting group is removed and the next amino acid is bonded
3. Repeat — this cycle continues until the full sequence is assembled
4. Cleave & purify — the peptide is detached from the resin and purified

• Truncations — shorter fragments where synthesis terminated early
• Deletions — the full sequence minus one or more amino acids at any position

Our 99%+ purity specification ensures these are within acceptable research limits.

Purity refers to the proportion of the sample that is the target peptide. Our minimum purity specification is 99%.

Yield refers to the actual mass of peptide recovered. The difference is typically due to the presence of water and salts in the sample — these are not contaminants but are inherent to lyophilised peptide products.
