What CJC-1295 no DAC is
CJC-1295 without DAC, also known in the literature as Modified GRF (1-29), is a 29-residue synthetic analogue of the biologically active N-terminal portion of growth-hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). Four amino-acid substitutions distinguish it from the native sequence and are intended to improve resistance to enzymatic cleavage. Its molecular weight is approximately 3,368 Da. The “no DAC” designation indicates that the Drug Affinity Complex, a maleimide group used in a related compound to extend circulation time, is absent.
Research background
Modified GRF (1-29) is used in research settings as a tool compound for studying GHRH receptor signalling and the regulation of pulsatile secretion in cell and animal models. Because the DAC modification is absent, the compound has a short half-life, which some protocols favour where a defined, time-limited stimulus is required.
