TB-500 is the synthetic form of thymosin beta-4 (Tβ4), a 43-residue peptide that is one of the most abundant intracellular peptides in mammalian cells. Its molecular weight is approximately 4,963 Da. Thymosin beta-4 was originally isolated from calf thymus in the 1980s and was later found to be present in nearly all cell types, where its principal known function is to bind monomeric G-actin and regulate the pool available for filament assembly. The actin-binding activity maps to a central motif with the sequence LKKTET.
Thymosin beta-4 has a substantial literature in cell biology and preclinical models. Published work covers actin dynamics, cell migration and angiogenesis in culture, and tissue models of cardiac, dermal and corneal repair in animals. It has also been examined in early clinical studies. Its combination with BPC-157 is a common request in research supply and is offered by Megalab as the Wolverine Stack. TB-500 is supplied as a research reagent only.
Each vial contains 5mg of TB-500 as a lyophilised powder. Purity is verified by HPLC at ≥99% on every batch. The batch record on this page shows the current lot where published, and a Certificate of Analysis is available on request.
Store unopened vials at −20°C and protect from light. Allow to reach room temperature before opening. TB-500 is a larger peptide than most in the range; add bacteriostatic water slowly down the vial wall and allow the powder to hydrate before swirling gently. Do not shake. Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C and use within 30 days.
Supplied for laboratory research use only.
TB-500 is the name used in research supply for synthetic thymosin beta-4. This product is the 43-residue sequence.
It binds monomeric actin and regulates the pool available for filament assembly, which is why it features prominently in research on cell migration and cytoskeletal dynamics.
Yes. The Wolverine Stack pairs one vial of TB-500 with one vial of BPC-157 at a reduced combined price.
